Screening of the Documentary: First Voice Generation
Join us for the the screening of “First Voice Generation”, a Cynthia Martinez Film. “The First Voice Generation film follows the stories of three Latinx high school students in Holland, Michigan. They struggle with a sense of identity and belonging growing up in this predominantly Dutch community because they are a child of Mexican immigrants. They dream of being the first in their family to go to college but Covid-19 shuts the world down exacerbating their struggles with virtual learning and the cost of affording college seeming impossible.” Q&A with Cynthia Martinez to follow immediately after the screening.
This event is part of the weeklong activities around the National First Generation College Celebration.
