Remembering Jeanne: The Clery Act & Campus Safety

The Clery Act requires colleges and universities to report campus crime data, support victims of violence, and publicly outline the policies and procedures they have put into place to improve campus safety. Jeanne Clery, whom the act was named after, was a freshman at Lehigh University at the time of her death. Her parents lobbied for colleges and universities that receive federal funding to publish these reports annually so that there would be more transparency and awareness for students. In this panel, we will discuss who Jeanne Clery was, how the act came to be, how it is used today on campus, and the resources available to the Lehigh Community.
