Day With(out) Art 2020: TRANSMISSIONS - In Recognition of World Aids Day
We are proud to partner with @visual_aids for Day With(out) Art 2020 by presenting TRANSMISSIONS, a program of six new videos about the ongoing HIV and AIDS crisis, from artists around the world: Jorge Bordello (Mexico), Gevi Dimitrakopoulou (Greece), Las Indetectables (Chile), George Stanley Nsamba (Uganda), Lucía Egaña Rojas (Chile/Spain), and Charan Singh (India/UK).
Transmissions provides a platform for a diversity of voice from beyond the United States, offering insight into the divergent and overlapping experiences of people living with HIV around the world today. The six commissioned videos cover a broad range of subjects, such as the erasure of women living with HIV in South America, neocolonial public health campaigns in India, and the realities of stigma and disclousre for young people in Uganda.
Join the Lehigh University Pride Center, Lehigh University Art Galleries, and the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center for a screening of the 2020 Day With(out) Art documentary in recognition of World Aids Day. We will be hosting a screening and a brief discussion following.
Register in advance here.
