Fall 2019 marks a significant time at Lehigh University as we honor the 30th anniversary of the Umoja House residential community. Through a series of events, we commemorate this milestone year, embracing our theme of "Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future", while preserving the meaning of why this space exists at Lehigh University. For 30 years, Umoja - which means “unity” in Swahili, has fostered a community of student residents and leaders through a shared exploration of diversity and multiculturalism. This community has been a beacon, a destination, a safe-space that unifies and develops student advocates to pursue greater knowledge both academically and socially. In 2017, the Office of Multicultural Affairs and BALANCE (Black and Latino Alumni Network for Community and Equity) started a tradition of joining forces during the Lehigh vs. Lafayette game to promote camaraderie and mutual networking between current students, faculty and staff, and alumni of color. This year, they are joining together yet again for the RIVALRY 155 game and to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Umoja House's existence at Lehigh University. Whether you like it or not, streetwear has taken over the fashion industry with Supreme, Kith, Off-White as a few of the hype brands. But are the hype and the brands worth it? In this discussion, we will talk about the culture surrounding streetwear.

Say It Out Loud is a one-of-a-kind event that creates open dialogue between students of different backgrounds on issues that affect students not just on campus but around the world. Several topics such as sexism, racism, mental health, and cultural appreciation are expressed through artistic performances of poetry, spoken word, songs, raps, dance routines, and more.
