Join us for an evening of networking and community building between Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Students. Share your academic projects, research, internships, and experiences with alumni, faculty, staff, and students. Space is limited, registration required. A collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Affairs, BALANCE Alumni Network, Black Student Union, College of Arts and Sciences - Africana Studies, and Student Auxiliary Services.

The purpose of this workshop is to learn more about different social identities and its intersections. Participants will have a chance to identify their own identities within different contexts and how it impacts them in a personal, group, and global context. With this information, participants will discuss how their different identities influence their relationships and their own identity development.

The focus for this talk will be on racial and ethnic disparities within our healthcare system. Black women are 243% more likely to die from pregnancy or childbirth-related complications than white women. We will evaluate why this is happening, different cases in which individuals are treated terribly by the doctors, and what must be changed within our healthcare system.

The Faculty and Staff of Color Network (FSCN) strive to enhance the retention and promotion of faculty and staff of color with the provision of promoting professional development, mentoring, community involvement and social events at Lehigh University. We work to educate the larger community by providing awareness concerning particular issues that surround faculty and staff of color.
