Redlining is an example of systemic racism. The U.S. government developed color coded maps to highlight areas where Black residents lived so they could encourage housing discrimination against Black residents and intentionally disinvest in Black communities.

Community M-Room: Sustainability: La Lucha Del Pueblo/ The Fight of the People
Sustainability: La Lucha Del Pueblo/ The Fight of the People. The 21st Century Dilemma between Development and Degradation.
A conversation around how free trade agreements and structural adjustments toward the privatization of vital resource extraction processes impact vulnerable communities especially indigenous nations in the Global South. This Virtual M-Room is intended to be a discussion around access to clean water, quality air, and preservation of biodiversity. The dialogue hopes to see if sustainable development is feasible by engaging with M-Room participants to undergo a feasibility study of this equilibrium that limits the adverse effects of displacement, environmental degradation, and exploitation of laborers.
