It's a fact that first-generation, low-income and underrepresented minority students face particular challenges during their higher education careers. Sometimes even figuring out how to get necessary help is daunting. The key for these students is developing relationships with a network of people and resources on campus, and a recent event organized by F1RST (First-Generation Initiative Represented by Students and Teachers) aimed to help students build that knowledge base.
