Every graduate feels a sense of pride and accomplishment on their commencement day; four years of hard work have finally paid off, and the possibilities in front of them seem endless. For first-generation students, however, the day is even sweeter. First-generation students, as the name implies, are the first in their families to earn a college degree. The journey to their commencement involved the hard work, sacrifice and expectations of their whole families.
